Message of the Month:
War on the Truth (God's Word)

"Grace to you and peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen (Gal 1:3-5)."

1. CURRENT AFFAIRS

IMMIGRATION

Up and until the end of the 19th century, voluntary migration was predominantly from Europe to Africa, Asia and the Americas. Europeans did not need visas to go to those continents. On the contrary, they invaded, conquered, imposed their rule and merged disparate people groups in those continents into countries. The case of Africa was tragic: They carried millions of young Africans to the Americas and sold them to work in their plantations. That of the Americas was even more tragic: They took over the Americas, killed most of the indigenous people and put survivors in reservations.

The reverse is now the case in the 21st century. Africa, the Middle East and most of South America are in turmoil. Wars, famine and corruption are the order of the day. (I posit these are the results of the enforced unions of disparate people groups into countries by the Colonists). People are fleeing for their lives and or seeking opportunities to better their lives in Europe and North America. The fact that tens of thousands have perished at sea, land and desert has not deterred the many thousands waiting to risk all for a life in Europe or North America.

This flow of people into Europe and the United States of America has ruptured the fabric holding Europe together (immigration is the primary reason the United Kingdom voted to leave the European Union) and exposed the fact that a good number of Caucasians are racists and xenophobes. The politics of immigration (largely driven by racism and xenophobia) and trade is preparing a disordered world for the Antichrist.

2. MESSAGE: WAR ON THE TRUTH (GOD'S WORD)

In the September Newsletter, we had used the term Overthrow of Truth. That term is misleading; it should be replaced with War on Truth.

Our message for this month, though titled WAR ON THE TRUTH, is different from the War on Truth: War on Truth is about lies competing with worldly facts in the media (print, electronic and social). But the WAR ON THE TRUTH is about the war Satan is waging on The Absolute Truth (God's word) using the enemies of the gospel.

"For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame—who set their mind on earthly things." (Phil 3:18-19).

Enemies of the gospel (those whose motivation for being in ministry or those who preach the gospel to enrich themselves are enemies of the gospel of Christ) are raising an army of Christians (the number is in the millions) that believe and act as if Christ's death on the cross means that God must answer the greedy carnal desires of Christians and that taking over and running the affairs of the world is part of the Church's mandate.

The Lord Jesus Christ never entertained becoming a king in a world that was already doomed. He demonstrated through His words and actions that there could never be an agreement between God's Kingdom and the kingdoms of the world.

"Therefore when Jesus perceived that they were about to come and take Him by force to make Him king, He departed again to the mountain by Himself alone."
(John 6:15).

Imagine that! Our Lord and Saviour escaped from those who wanted to make Him king! Why did Jesus escape from them?

  • Ruling a doomed world was not why He left Heaven to come to earth.
  • His Acceptance would have derailed the Mission of God.
  • It was a snare by the devil to take His eyes off the ball.

Just as the Lord Jesus stood up and challenged the religious and political powers in His day, He expects His followers to do the same.

PROMOTION OF FALSE AND DANGEROUS TEACHINGS:
From the dawn of Modernity to now, there has been no let up in attempts by Christian leaders to covertly (sometimes overtly) run the affairs of countries and empires. Because they propagate syncretistic gospels (mixtures of Christian doctrines with worldly thoughts and cultural beliefs and doctrines of demons), they gain large followership.
At no time in Church history has there been so many enemies of the gospel than in the 21st century. The following movements have played a large role in undermining the gospel of Christ: The Apostolic Reformation, Dominion Theology/Christian Reconstruction, Seven Mountain Mandate and The Prosperity Message. Millions of Christians have heard their insidious teachings and accepted them as facts.

THE APOSTOLIC REFORMATION:
They preach that the Church should be governed by apostles and prophets and that Christ's death on the cross empowered Christians to take over these seven areas—government, arts, education, business, religion, family and media; the most important of these being government. Domination in government enables Christians to control every aspect of human endeavour.

DOMINION THEOLOGY/CHRISTIAN RECONSTRUCTISM
The Dominion Theology started in the 1970s. Adherents believe that Christians should create a worldwide kingdom patterned after the Law and the Prophets (Old Testament). In order to achieve that, they should dominate the world's religious and political systems.

SEVEN MOUNTAIN MANDATE
Those who subscribe to the Seven Mountain Mandate believe that for Christ to return to earth, the Church must take control of the following seven areas in the world--Religion, Education, Family, Government and Military, Media, Arts and Entertainment, and Business.

Those seven areas are the seven mountains (also called spheres, pillars, molders and shapers) that the Church must occupy. In effect, Christians must create a worldwide Kingdom, which Christ will rule during His Second Coming.  (For more information on The Apostolic Reformation, Dominion Theology/Christian Reconstruction and Seven Mountain Mandate, visit www.GotQuestions.Org).

PROSPERITY MESSAGE
Prosperity message is a product of the Word-Faith Movement (for more on this Movement, please download and read our book, The Stewards of the Kingdom from our website). Prosperity preachers teach that believers who have faith can name and claim whatever they desire; the wealth of the heathens (unbelievers) belong to God's children; failure to receive denotes lack of faith; those who sow seed with their tithes and offerings receive back a hundredfold of what they have given; and etc.

Question

Why are the above teachings false?

Answer

Those teachings are about self, power and riches in this world. They are promoting a love of the world: a cross-less message is a Christ-less message and followers of Christ must flee from churches that preach and teach such unbiblical messages.

"Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him." (1John 2:15)

Differences in all these false teachings are cosmetic. There is a spirit behind them and because they contradict the gospel of Christ and oppose the Mission of God, we must conclude like Brother Paul that they are not from God (Gal 1:8-9).

B. POLITICS AND RELIGION

Immigration, abortion and same-sex marriage are the wedge issues in the United States of America and European politics.

Rightwing groups (dominated by racists and xenophobes) now drive the agenda of the conservative parties on both continents. A major rump of Christians in the United States of America, comprising mostly Caucasians, has aligned itself to these rightwing groups because of the so-called Right's opposition to abortion and same-sex marriage.

Extreme leftwing groups (dominated by gay-lesbian groups) now drive the agenda of the liberal parties in the United States and Europe. Marriage in some jurisdictions where liberal parties are in power now includes that between a man and a man and between a woman and a woman. Some Christian groups have hitched their tents to these groups because of the so-called Left's support of social justice, equality of all human beings and the poor.

Avowedly Christian leaders see nothing wrong in belonging to political parties and using the pulpit to 'sell' their preferred candidates to their congregations. All political parties - left, right, center, left of center, right of center and the governments they form when they come to power - have values that oppose those of the Kingdom on their platforms.

Let us say that Brother John is a card-carrying member of a political party who also says he is a Bible-believing-practicing Christian. His party supports same-sex marriage and abortion on demand. He defends his position when questioned that though he is a member of that party, he does not endorse everything in his party's platform. There is one word for him: Hypocrite.

We have another case. Sister Jane is a card-carrying member of another political party who also claims to be a Bible-believing-practicing Christian. Her party, known for its connections with racist and xenophobic groups and with no sympathy for the poor, favours giving tax breaks to the rich while denying basic health services to the poor and the needy. Confronted, she says that though she is a member of that party, she does not endorse everything in her party's platform. There is one word for her: Hypocrite.

Those who call themselves Bible-Believing-Practicing Christians but are members of churches whose teachings contradict God's word by even an iota are hypocrites also. Members of churches are liable for whatever their churches teach and/or promote. It is disingenuous to claim ignorance of that which one is a part of.

Sadly, it is this army of deceived Christians that will embrace the Antichrist thinking he is the Christ. Those being deceived now will definitely embrace the antichrist unless they come out from these apostate churches now (2 Cor 6:14-18).

C. ARE YOU A FOLLOWER OF CHRIST OR
A FOLLOWER OF THE WORLD?

Jesus answered, "My Kingdom is not an earthly kingdom. If it were, my followers would fight to keep me from being handed over to the Jewish leaders. But my Kingdom is not of this world" (John 18:36 NLT).

Can we hear what the Lord was saying above?  If  He did not ask His followers to fight when He was arrested, why do we think it is proper for 21st century followers of Christ to be fighting for political power alongside unbelievers?

Followers of Christ are priests and kings in the Kingdom of heaven.

"and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever (Rev 1:6).

As priests, we offer praises to the King of Kings and the Lord of lords when we live a victorious Christian life (one that promotes, contends and lives in accordance to Kingdom values). And as kings, we pull down strongholds through the power of God (2 Cor 10:5).

In essence, we don't have to belong to political parties to have governments make just laws. God can and will remove any potentate (or bend them to His will) in any land for the sake of His children who cry out to Him. We have the examples of the Pharaoh of Egypt and Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon.

Esther showed us how to overcome and save a people group in Persia. God's word in 2 Chronicles 7:14 is still valid in the 21st century.

Rather than teach their followers the right way to subdue kingdoms, Christian leaders (many of them enemies of the cross) have formed alliances with worldly princes. Their spurious claim that if Christians are not at the table, unbelievers would make unjust laws, contradicts God's word.

It is tragic: These leaders and their followers, by being active members of political parties, have embraced some of the values of the kingdom of darkness.

For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom   of his dear Son, who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins
(Col 1:13-14 NLT).

We either are following Christ or following the world (and by implication, Satan). There is no middle ground. May the Lord God open our eyes of understanding and give us the grace to run this race in the prescribed manner, in Jesus Name. Amen.

(All Scripture quotations have been taken from the New King James Version unless where otherwise indicated).
