HEAR THE LORD’S WORD TO HIS CHILDREN TRAPPED IN APOSTATE CHISTIANITY

(“Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place–Matt 24:34).

This generation mentioned in Matt 24:34 is the 21st century Christianity.

Christ was not prophesying about a doomed world that would become apostate. Rather, He was warning 21st century followers of Christ about believing the lies that would be dished by apostate Christianity masquerading as His church.

1.0 SIGN OF HIS (CHRIST) COMING

The sign (He prophesied in Matt 4-35) of His coming is for our generation:

And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you.

“For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.

“And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

“For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.

“All these are the beginning of sorrows.

“Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. “And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.

“Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There!’ do not believe it. “For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

“See, I have told you beforehand.

“Therefore if they say to you, ‘Look, He is in the desert!’ do not go out; or ‘Look, He is in the inner rooms!’ do not believe it.

“Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. “So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near–at the doors! “Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away (Matt 24:4-35, NKJV).

2.0 APOSTATE CHRISTIANITY

God chose Israel as His children: He gave them everything, elevating them above all the other nations of the earth.

But God had expectation: Israel would choose God above all the gods of the nations. And through that choice other nations would acknowledge that there is only one God, and His name is Yahweh.

Sadly Israel became like the other nations: it acknowledged and served other gods; apostasy became the order of the day.

God then raised a new nation (a nation that was greater than any before it): followers of Christ aka the Christian nation.

Washed by the Blood of the Lamb of God and made God’s children through their confession that Jesus is both Lord and Saviour, this Christian nation, under the High Priesthood of the Lord Jesus Christ, was to showcase God’s love for all humankind.

God expected citizens of this nation to live Spirit-filled and sanctified lives patterned after the ethics of the Kingdom of God (Matt 5:3-10).

Such changed lives were to challenge the rest of humanity and draw many to God.

“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.
“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.
“Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven (Matt 5:13-16 NKJV).

Rather than being that salt of the earth or that light that shows the way, the Christian nation rejected its Lord and Saviour and His authorized Representative (the Holy Spirit) just like the first nation (Israel) rejected God (Yahweh).

The salt is now flavorless and the light that ought to show the way has grown dark: it is no longer useful; it is only good to be thrown out.

We are now in the season of anomie, a time of great apostasy and worldwide deception (Matt 24:5-35). And apostate Christianity is to blame.

3. WHO IS A FAITHFUL (WISE) VIRGIN?

“Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.
“Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
“Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them,
“but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps (Matt 25:1-4 NKJV).

The ten virgins were Christians (their sins had been taken away by the Blood of the Lamb). All ten were believers and yet only five made it to the banquet.

Why?

1. The wise virgins were not slothful; they had studied and meditated on God’s word daily (Josh 1:8; 2 Tim 2:15).

They had fed their spirits with spiritual food (God’s word). In effect, they had a great relationship with the bridegroom (the Lord).

And because they strived to live a life that pleased God, Father, Son and Spirit made their abode in their hearts.

Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him (John 14:23 NKJV).

2. The foolish virgins did not take God’s word seriously: they depended on human beings (pastors, GO’s, etc) for their spiritual food. In effect, they had great relationship with their pastors and GO’s but none with the bridegroom (the Lord).

And because they trusted in human beings, they could not see that those they had given their hearts were not tuned into God’s frequency; they were just merchandisers of God’s grace.

4. HOW TO BECOME A WISE VIRGIN

4.1 Run away from churches where mammon (prosperity and feel-good messages) is lifted up and Christ-and-cross-centered messages are not at the heart of ALL THE CHURCH ACTIVITIES.

Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell in them And walk among them. I will be their God, And they shall be My people.” Therefore “Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.” “I will be a Father to you, And you shall be My sons and daughters, Says the LORD Almighty.” (2Cor 6:14-18 NKJV).

4.2 Stop looking for God in the wrong places. Our Lord and Saviour is standing at the door of your heart waiting to be invited to have fellowship with YOU.

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me (Rev 3:20-21 NKJV).

4.3 Develop a personal relationship with the Lord who purchased you with His Blood through daily study of the Scriptures in your CLOSET (not in a church building).

Father God, I have given your children your word. May you open their eyes of understanding so that they can apprehend the truth. May you open their hearts to embrace your Son who died for our sins and who resurrected for our justification. All these I ask in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ.
